This was my first venture into, what I came to call Fusion Works, organically combining jade with bronze, although the jade takes somewhat of a supporting role in this portrait of a young African American woman I met in San Francisco many years ago. The sculpture is in the collection of Mr. & Mrs. Randy Smith in Sonoma, CA.
I am working on the reverse of this piece, her face in black jade with a bronze ‘headdress’.
